Objectives Students in this subject will develop an understanding of how to critically analyse a human service organisation in terms of its goals; formal and informal structure; organisational culture and environment. They will have gained sufficient knowledge of program, planning, implementation and evaluation to be able to prepare a submission requesting funding and/or support for a program.
Synopsis This subject recognises the organisational context of all welfare practice and will therefore attempt to explore the ways this context can affect practice interventions, as well as introduce students to practice strategies for organisational change. The subject aims to prepare students for the increasing number and range of management functions embodied in many welfare positions today, with an emphasis on project planning and current trends in resourcing.
