Prerequisites: MGR1070 or MGR1080
Objectives Students are expected to read all of the prescribed texts in the original Greek and to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of their historical and cultural background, of the major literary and artistic developments in Europe which influenced twentieth century Greek literature, and of basic concepts of literary criticism.
Synopsis A study of texts representative of major stages in the development of Greek literature in the twentieth century.
Assessment second year Seminar paper (1000 words): 15%
* Essay (2500

* Examination (2.5 hours): 40%. Students will be required to
write on a minimum of five prescribed texts in their assessed work.
