Objectives Students must complete both parts 1 and 2 (CHI3450) in order to develop: (1) the ability to write formal correspondence using appropriate business vocabulary, (2) a knowledge of mainland Chinese business practices, (3) the oral/aural ability for formal and informal modes of communication across a range of social and business contexts.
Synopsis This subject develops practical writing and oral skills used in Chinese business and commerce in contemporary China. Students enrolled in stream F (Chinese for dialect speakers) cannot take this subject as an elective.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 45%
