Prerequisites: JPL3510 or equivalent
Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should be able to comprehend Japanese television programs and to participate in discussion of current issues in Japanese; able to read a wide range of materials in differing styles on a variety of subjects, and able to develop self-study skills for further study. Students should also have a thorough knowledge of kyooiku kanji (1006) and jooyoo kanji (700). In addition, they should be able to recognise a further 200 jooyoo kanji necessary to fully understand newspapers in contemporary Japan in total 1906 kanji).
Synopsis This subject is a continuation of JPL3510.
