Entry requirements

Students wishing to enter part I need to have a Bachelor of Music or equivalent with an overall credit grade in the last year of study.

For admission into part II applicants should normally have completed a four-year Bachelor of Music with first class or 2A honours in performance, or the equivalent, or have had extensive practical experience in one of the following chief practical study areas: instrumental/vocal performance or accompanying. Admission is determined on the basis of audition, academic record, evidence of professional experience and ability to undertake the program. Application should be made to the department by 30 October each year. Applicants are required to audition and be interviewed by a selection panel during November in the year prior to commencing the course and arrange for two confidential referee reports to be forwarded to the head of department.
