Synopsis Students will enrol in this subject to have their results accredited to their degree at `Intermediate Indonesian' level. Students will select Indonesian Level II at the Sanata Dharma University and Realia Language School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Drawing on textbook materials, literary prose and more popular literature, students will write compositions, undertake translations and participate in informal conversation. The contact time includes a total of thirty hours of field work and activities providing visual and contextual cues to meaning. Through this immersion technique language is acquired with increasing ease and significant aspects of cross-cultural communication practiced in different contexts are recognised.
