Prerequisites: Completion of MA part I in Japanese business interpreting
and translation and 24 points of MA part II or equivalent
Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to interact with a Japanese business person in a work domain. Students should be able to be familiar with the following topics on Japanese business communication: medium, recruitment, job interview, employment conditions, documents.
Synopsis This subject is to provide students with an overview of a wide range of Japanese practices which form the context in which business communication occurs in Japanese organisations. Visits to Japanese organisations, and interviewing Japanese employees will form part of the subject's program.
Assessment Major internship and research paper (6000 words): 100%
