Subject to the approval of the department's Postgraduate Program Committee, certain subjects can be taken in Japan. However, students who have not completed their last undergraduate year at Monash will not normally be eligible to study in Japan in the first semester of their candidature. The department currently maintains university to university agreements with about ten Japanese universities. Ample opportunities exist for scholarships, and interested students should inquire with the convener of the department's scholarship committee.
