Individual research paper

Objectives At the end of this course, the student should have completed an individual research project in the context of the group research project, under the supervision of an individual supervisor, and representing a total of about four months full-time research and writing up. The individual research paper is to be written as an article for a journal to be agreed in consultation with both individual and group supervisors.

Synopsis Students prepare a 6000-word paper based on individual research undertaken in the context of the major group project (ERM). This paper is assessed by two examiners: the group supervisor of the ERM project and someone from outside GSES, from the discipline area of the individual research. Individual and group research are undertaken in parallel.
