Synopsis A 75 per cent thesis of 35,000-40,000 words, fulfilling
three-quarters of the year's requirements (thirty-six points) may be undertaken
under exceptional circumstances and with the permission of the director, in
part II of the MA (Development Studies). This thesis will normally be examined
by one internal and one external examiner. Its topic must be determined in
consultation with its supervisor who is to be selected by the student in
consultation with Dr Susan Blackburn, director of the Development Studies
Centre.
