VCE/HSC Ukrainian or equivalent
Synopsis (i) Language: a review of Ukrainian grammar; development of
conversation and composition skills using texts on contemporary themes. (ii)
Literature and society: an introduction to major cultural, social and political
developments in Ukraine since 1953, with a focus on the contemporary situation.
Selected literary texts of the period are studied.
Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 25% + Language - Weekly homework: 25%
; two 10-minute tutorial papers: 10%; test: 10% + Literature and culture -
Essay (1500 words): 20%; tutorial paper: 10%
