Synopsis This subject explores a variety of texts and short stories of twentieth-century Latin American writers to illustrate the various literary, socio-political and economic factors that have changed the face of Latin America this decade. The subject will include the works of Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, Juan Rulfo, Jorge Luis Borges, Alfonsina Storni, Carlos Fuentes and Julio Cortázar. Audio-visual material will be included as well to examine specific themes.
