First-year SCY sequence or equivalent
Synopsis Class and social stratification. An evaluation of different
sociological perspectives of class and social stratification. The changing
class structure of the advanced societies. Class, status and power in
Australian society. A particular examination of stratification in everyday
life.
Assessment One essay (2500 words): 40% + One investigative report (2500
words): 40% + Tutorial paper and presentation (1000 words): 20%
