Advanced contemporary psychology I

12 points + Four 1-hour lectures and one 1-hour tutorial per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: (PSY2011 or PSY2031) and (PSY2022 or PSY2042) + Prohibitions: PSY3011

Synopsis This subject is designed for students who want to continue their studies in psychology at third-year level but who do not want an accredited major in psychology or entry to honours. Its aim is to give an account at an advanced level of a range of topics in contemporary psychology for students majoring in other disciplines. Students will select four lecture-units from the following: `Statistics and experimental design', `Introduction to psycholinguistics', Human Ethology', `Auditory sensory processes', `Human factors psychology', or a unit to be announced. In addition to the four lectures there will be a one-hour tutorial per week.

Assessment Written (1500 words): 12% + Tutorial presentations: 13% + Examinations: 75%
