Synopsis With assigned studio teachers and department staff, students are required to prepare a chief practical study program totalling about 30 minutes and a chief practical study chamber music program totalling 10-20 minutes in duration. The chief practical study program should include works of varied periods and at least one movement of a multimovement work. Students must perform chamber and/or solo works and participate in orchestral or choral ensembles as directed. in concert practice or other approved concert situations. Performance reports by concert advisers are available for perusal after a concert. The subject includes program writing, musicianship and instrument teaching skills. Students are required to write program notes and a critical, analytical and historical essay in the context of the relevant literature. Students need to practice at least three hours per day.
Assessment Written (2000 words): 15% + Chief practical study examination and chamber performance examination: 85%
