Synopsis This subject surveys the history of keyboard instruments from
the earliest hydraulic organ to the latest electronic reconstruction. In terms
of repertoire, the `peak' pieces will be examined against the background of
styles and forms of lesser known works. Certain works are studied in great
detail.
