Orchestral and choral performance and studies II

6 points + 4 hours per week + Second semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: Audition or pass in MUS1120 + Prohibitions: MUS1070

Synopsis (i) Ensemble, orchestral and choral rehearsals and concert performance of selected works, and (ii) training in the materials and structure of music, emphasising musicianship and creativity, including melodic, rhythmic, harmonic and contrapuntal relationships and formal structures or studies in the history of Western music. Subject designed for BA music majors. Note: this subject is available in some faculties as a three-point unit comprising performance only.

Assessment Written (1000 words): 15% + Examinations (1 hour): 15% + Concert performance: 70%
