Synopsis This subject focuses on the role of the document in its societal context. It explores the relationship between communications, record, document, information and politics. Topics covered include: the role of the record and document in society; the politics of information and the record; end users of documents: who they are, what they need; documenting society: how the record is made available, managed and by whom in the interests of groups in contemporary society; case studies examining documents and other forms of stored information.
