Synopsis Continuing the work of CLS1040, this subject will examine a
series of popular culture genres and texts drawn from a wide variety of
contexts, including children's television, soap opera, romance, crime and
science fiction in film, television and the popular novel. Among the recurring
motifs in the subject will be questions about the place of Australian popular
