Most modern engineering projects are multidisciplinary in nature and require a broad range of skills, proficiencies and perspectives to accomplish the task. The mechanical engineering specialisation in the Master of Advanced Engineering takes a systems approach to the design, monitoring and performance of complex mechanical engineering systems in the fields of renewable energy, aerospace, buildings, transportation, and biomedical devices. The systems approach also permeates the design of the course: four discipline-based core units are vertically integrated so that common problems are examined from different perspectives, culminating in a sustainable systems unit.
