Synopsis

This unit provides an introduction to the definitions, principles and practices of Dramaturgy

Outcomes

On completion of this unit, students will:

Understand the basic principles and meanings of dramaturgy
Have experience in basic background research techniques for a production
Understand the history and applications of dramaturgy in theatrical practice

Assessment

Essay (1800 words): 40%
Project (2700 words): 60%
