Description

The paramedic provides pre-hospital care and treatment for sick and injured people aimed at stabilising and/or improving the patient's condition in preparation for and during transportation to hospital.

Courses within this area of study support students to improve their clinical practice and knowledge related to the delivery of emergency health services, while also preparing them for leadership positions.

The field of community emergency health encompases clinical practice areas of relevance to other health professionals including nurses and doctors who practice within or have an interest in aeromedical retreival, emergency preparedness and disaster health.
