Description

Graduates with a major in business modelling will be able to pursue employment as business analysts particularly for large systems in both the public and private sectors.

Units

To complete the business modelling major in the Bachelor of Commerce, students must complete:

(a.) The following five units (30 points):

ETC1010 Data modelling and computing
ETC2440 Mathematics for economics and business
ETC2470 Applied business modelling
ETC2480 Business modelling methods
ETC3490 Business simulation

(b.) three units from the following list (18 points):

AFC3540 Modelling in finance, or FIT3051 Decision support systems for finance
ECC3860/ETC3860 Integrated economic modelling
ETC2410/ETC3440 Introductory econometrics
ETC2450 Applied forecasting for business and economics
FIT1002 Computer programming
FIT3003 Business intelligence and data warehousing
FIT3022 Intelligent decision support systems

Note: the major requires completion of at least two units (12 points) at each of second and third-year levels.
