Notes Previously coded COM4260 SynopsisIn this unit students consider persuasion, history and theory of rhetoric, and public address. The unit looks at the relation between communication, politics, and public advocacy - and at the principles of rhetoric, public speaking, and speech writing. It explores the role of speeches in leadership - and how speeches persuade others, mobilize opinion, foster controversy and dramatic conflict, and create allegiances and social consensus. Objectives
