SynopsisThis unit will introduce students to the basics of ancient Egyptian language in its classic phase, Middle Egyptian, written in the hieroglyphic script. Middle Egyptian developed during the late third millennium BCE and was used for literary and historical inscriptions for approximately one millennium. Through the study of its basic structure students will be introduced to both its grammar and also the unique way in which the ancient Egyptians expressed themselves. Objectives
