Synopsis

Through an exposure to a wide variety of literary and non- literary texts which focus on Jewish writing and cultural trends, comprehensive critical sources, international scholars, individualized guidence and regular supervision, students will be able to achieve a scholarly approach to the themes marked by the sharpening of literary and analytical skills necessary in successful research.

Objectives

Students successfully completing this subject should have developed an understanding of:

  1. Advanced research methods with a focus on Jewish literary and non-literary texts;
  2. Jewish writing and cultural trends within their social, cultural and political environment;
  3. A comprehensive understanding of critical sources of literary and non-literary Jewish writing.

Assessment

Written work: 90%
Class participation: 10%
