Monash University Handbook 2011

Faculty-based award regulations

The formal regulations relating to a course, based on the University's statutes, are the formal statement of what a student is required to do to successfully complete an award of the University. These regulations are set by the managing faculty for the course and are detailed in the University's handbooks. It is a student's responsibility to ensure that they understand and meet the requirements for the course in which they are enrolled. For more on faculty policies refer to the following web sites:

Course structures are reviewed from time to time and changes may be made to reflect advances in knowledge or changing employment needs. If the regulations of a course change, students will usually be given the option of continuing with the old regulations or conforming to the new regulations, whichever is best for them.

While faculties will endeavour to give every possible assistance and advice concerning unit choice, it is the student's responsibility to ensure that the units they select and study meet their degree regulations and requirements. Faculties are not responsible for errors in unit selection.

Students should always check that the correct units and other details are recorded in the Web Enrolment System (WES) or on any official University enrolment details and fee statements.
