Econometrics

Description

Econometrics involves the extraction of information from data. It comprises a set of tools for analysing data using economic theories or computer-based statistical models. Econometric analysis provides informed support for business and economic decision-making.

Units

To complete the cconometrics major in the Bachelor of Business, students must complete:

(a.) at least two of the following three units:

ETF2100 Introductory econometrics
ETX1100 Business statistics
ETX2121 Data analysis in business

(b.) remaining units selected from the following:

ETF2480 Business modeling
ETF2700 Mathematics for business
ETF3200 Quantitative business analysis
ETX3231 Business forecasting
ETF3300 Quantitative methods for financial markets
ETF3480 Optimisation for managers
ETF3500 Survey data analysis
ETF3600 Quantitative models for business research

Note: The major requires completion of at least two units (12 points) at each of second and third-year levels.
