Students are required to complete 48 points of study comprising a thesis and two coursework units.

The coursework units and the thesis topic are chosen in consultation with the French studies honours coordinator.

Thesis

Students complete one of the following options:

• ATS4086 French honours dissertation
• ATS4087 French honours dissertation part 1 and ATS4088 French honours dissertation part 2

Coursework units

Students complete two of the following units:

• ATS4069 French studies 9
• ATS4070 French studies 10
• ATS4083 Translation in French studies: Theory and practice
• ATS4084 Academic discourse in French
• ATS4085 Cultural and literary translation in French studies
• ATS4089 Special reading course (French studies)
• ATS4090 French studies abroad 4/1
• ATS4091 French studies abroad 4/2
• ATS4653 Honours workshop: Theory and method in the humanities
