Synopsis

This unit introduces the practice of teaching in primary schools. Specific teaching techniques, such as making observations, asking questions and providing explanations are introduced and refined in contexts of practice. The appropriateness of these for different children and learning environments is critiqued. The fieldwork component provides opportunity for students to put these techniques into practice.
