The Faculty of Art and Design is a leader in art and design education and research in Australia. Through its departments of Architecture, Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia and Digital Arts, Theory of Art and Design, and the Gippsland Centre for Art and Design, the Faculty offers an extensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

The postgraduate programs at Monash Art and Design train PhD and Masters students to challenge the aesthetic, formal and conceptual principles on which their undergraduate studies or professional practice is based.

Upon completion, our graduates not only possess an internationally acknowledged postgraduate qualification, they are also equipped to take advantage of global employment opportunities across a variety of disciplines and industry sectors.

Occupational health, safety and environment in Art and Design courses

Instruction in relevant occupational health, safety and environment issues is provided in all courses offered by the Faculty of Art and Design. The unit OHS1000 (Introduction to art and design health and safety) (0 points) is an essential unit in the delivery of occupational health and safety and is a standard enrolment requirement of first-year, semester one study programs.
