Clayton First semester 2007 (Day)
Develops lower intermediate competence in the contemporary Korean language, emphasising active oral and writing skills and socio-cultural aspects of communication. Topics covered include communicating in everyday social situations, such as talking about educational background and describing jobs. Students will read highly simplified texts from magazines and newspapers, and write simple texts such as a personal letter or a report of an everyday event.
Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to:
Continuous assessment (oral and written class work, homework, tests): 60%
Examination (4 hours): 40%
4 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 2 x 1 hour tutorials) per week
KOR4020 or equivalent
