Levels 4 and 5 of the course will be phased out over the next two years. Course structureThe first level of the program introduced students to the history and theory of flight. In the second level, students undertook introductory units in mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and design. Students were also introduced to specialist aerospace topics in materials and structures. The third and fourth levels of the program build on the basic material already introduced. During these two levels, topics covered will include avionics, aerodynamics, flight mechanics and propulsion, as well as mechanical engineering design. The final level of the program has a number of project-based units as well as elective units. Course requirementsThis course ceased intake in 2004. Level 4 of the program will be taught for the last time in 2007. Fourth level
