The course enhances problem-solving and pharmacy practice skills as it explores relevant professional issues through pharmacist-moderated online discussion forums, seminars and small-group meetings. The course is approved by the Pharmacy Board of Victoria as a pharmacy pre-registration training program. Mid-year entry is available. Entry requirementsThe course is open to holders of a degree in pharmacy from Australia or New Zealand, or applicants with an overseas qualification approved by the Australian Pharmacy Examining Council. Non-Australian citizens must hold an occupational training visa. Course structureStudents are required to complete two core units in applied pharmacy practice that combine online case-based discussions, small group meetings and intensive seminars. Students will also complete computer-assisted learning packages in pharmacy calculations and law, and participate in the National Prescribing Service Self-Audits and Case Studies. The course is designed to integrate with preceptors workplace training programs. The detailed preceptors guide to the online discussions also enables them to participate in the program. This is a non-award program, and students will receive a statement of attainment only. Assessment is by seminar attendance, online discussion group participation, online quizzes, participation in National Prescribing Service activities, and submission of a record of Continuing Professional Development.
