The course builds on the Graduate Certificate in Wound Care, and students have the opportunity to undertake elective units relevant to their area of practice. Students enrolled in the graduate diploma have the option to exit with a graduate certificate when the requirements for that award are completed, or they may progress to the Master of Wound Care after completing the requirements for the graduate diploma. Course objectivesAt the completion of the Graduate Diploma in Wound Care students will be able to:
Entry requirementsAn undergraduate degree in an appropriate health discipline and at least two years of clinical relevant experience. Credit for prior learningApplicants may apply for advanced standing or credit for previous studies undertaken in the previous 5 years, or recognition of prior learning. The maximum proportion that can be awarded for advanced standing is 50% of the requirements for the award. No more than 25% of the requirements for the award will normally be granted for advanced standing based on the recognition of prior learning. All applications for advanced standing will be considered on an individual basis by the Faculty. Course structureIn addition to full completion of the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Wound Care (see above), students are required to complete three core units and 12 credit-points of elective units to qualify for the graduate diploma. Practical wound care training and assessment (VCW1127) requires students to attend a five-day on-campus/residential course at the Parkville campus. They will undertake supervised clinic observation, seminar workshops and assessment in various aspects of wound related topics during these five days. Core units
