Units indexed by faculty Master of Human Rights LawCourse code: 3392 * Course abbreviation: MasterHumRtsLaw * Total credit points required: 48 * 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time Study mode and course locationOn campus (Melbourne city) Course descriptionThis course is particularly relevant for non-lawyers working in non-government organisations (NGOs), government, community groups and industry who are interested in how human rights law impacts upon their work, as well as those employed by human rights-related organisations such as international human rights NGOs and international development agencies. Course structureThe course comprises eight 6-point units. Candidates must complete five units offered as part of the Master of Laws specialising in human rights law. The remaining three units may be taken from any units offered in the masters coursework program. Alternatively students can elect one of the following options:
A candidate with a degree in a discipline other than law or a candidate with a law degree from a non-Australian jurisdiction will be required to complete the unit LAW7212 (Australian legal system), unless an exemption is granted. The units in the specialisation will be those which are specified from time to time by the faculty board on the recommendation of the Postgraduate Studies Committee of the faculty.
