Caulfield First semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: The unit is designed to provide research experience in a group through an activity-based, problem-solving learning program. Students will undertake a qualitative research project as members of a research team of fellow students working under the guidance and supervision of the co-ordinator.
Objectives: On completion of the unit students will have: 1. developed research literature search and synthesis skills; 2. developed qualitative data collection and analysis skills; 3. developed report writing skills; 4. enhanced group work skills.
Assessment: Individual project report (5500 words): 60% + Individual contribution to group work (3500 words): 40%
Contact Hours: One x 2 hr seminar/workshop per week.
Prerequisites: SYM4005 or permission of co-ordinator.
