Synopsis: Issues relating to social work practice in response to child abuse, especially the relationship between the child, the family, the community and the state.
Objectives: The specific learning objectives for this unit are for students to: 1. reflect upon the complex relationships between the child, the family, the community and the State; 2. develop an understanding of the complexities of child protection practice, and develop an understanding of the links between policy and practice in this field.
Assessment: Major assignment(7000 words): 80% + Minor assignment(2000 words): 20%
