Synopsis: Students will develop a viable research proposal to address a question of psychological importance. They will make application to SCERH for approval to conduct the research.
Objectives: On completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Analyse theories, concepts and issues central to aspecific topic; 2. Design a research study including the selection of an appropriate methodology; 3. Understand the options available in research design and analysis, and how to select them; 4. Know the ethical and professional issues confronting researchers; 5. Be able to complete a successful application for Ethics Approval.
Assessment: OCDL: Submission of a research proposal, and an application to SCERH for research approval. On-campus: Oral presentation of the rationale and design of the proposed research study, and application to SCERH for research approval
