Synopsis: Introduction to the major traditions of international relations theory, including classical and structural realism, neoliberalism, British rationalism, cosmopolitanism, and Marxism. Critiques, especially those offered by critical theorists, poststructualists, and feminists. Historical and contemporary events, developments and issues in international relations.
Assessment: Tutorial participation: 10% + Assignment (1000 words): 15% + Essay (1500 words): 35% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
Contact Hours: 3 hours (2 x 1 hour lectures and 1 x 1 hour tutorial) per week
