Clayton First semester 2006 (Day)
Synopsis: An investigation of the elements that comprise a performance. (i) An overview of the technical departments involved in the theatre making process. (ii) Selected scenes from contemporary playtexts or libretti, investigating a methodology of rehearsal, including exercises on action and character. The class will present showings of their scene work.
Assessment: Seminar/workshop participation: 30% + Written document (1000 words): 30% + Contribution to performance projects: 40%
Contact Hours: 3 hours (1 x 1 hour lecture and 1 x 2 hour workshop) per week
