Synopsis: Public health consequences of complex humanitarian emergencies involving armed conflict, population displacement, food scarcity and an outline of the critical public health interventions in these settings.

Objectives: On completion of this unit students will: 1. be able to analyse the causal factors of acute and gradual onset disasters, including refugee crisis; 2. develop relevant skills in the assessment of, and response to major public health emergencies.
