MMS-ALFRED Second semester 2006 (OCL)
Synopsis: Skills for the design, implementation and analysis of randomised controlled clinical trials. Formulation of the research question, selection and recruitment of study subjects, comparability of groups, randomisation, defining the manoeuvre for developing and executing the measurements, interpreting findings, managing outcomes and considering issues of ethics, budget and quality assurance.
Objectives: On completion of this unit students should be able to: 1 design a protocol for a randomised controlled clinical trial; 2. clinically appraise a protocol of a randomised controlled clinical trial.
