Synopsis: Current topics of both theoretical and professional interest in Business Intelligence. The topics and issues addressed will change from year to year to reflect academic staff availability, visiting international academics, and the dynamics of professional practice. As a guide, the topics covered will include the following: Managerial information behaviours, Technical issues in data warehousing, Corporate performance management, Organisational issues in BI adoption and management, Macro trends in the BI industry.
Assessment: A major written work (for example, a publishable paper or confidential industry report): 50%. Supervised Assessment: 50%
Contact Hours: 3 hours of lectures and seminars per week
Prerequisites: IMS5005 and either IMS5004 or IMS5026. Must have completed Part A of the Master of Information Systems.
