Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to the strategic business analysis of the food industry. Strategic context of the Australian food industry. Stakeholder analysis. Methods of strategic analysis in the value chain context. Strategies of world leading food retailers and manufacturers. Implementation issues and strategies
Objectives: + Analyse the strategic context of the Australian food industry + Describe and critically analyse key stakeholders in the food industry + Assess a range of methods for strategic analysis of the food industry + Analyse the strategies of leading food retailers and manufacturers + Examine the impact of implementation strategies on business performance
Assessment: Assignment 1 (5000 words): 50% + Assignment 2 (3000 words): 30% + Individual presentation: 20%
Off-campus attendance requirements: Off-campus with residential block
