Synopsis: This unit provides an introduction to tourism studies. The main areas covered include the key components of the tourism industry, the importance and function of tourist attractions, motivations and types of tourists and the social, economic and environmental impacts of tourism.
Assessment: Individual assignments (800 words): 10% + Individual assignment (1200 words): 15% + Individual assignment (2000 words): 25% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
