Synopsis: As for INM2010

Objectives: Upon successful completion of this unit students will be able to: 1. Understand basic grammatical structures of the Indonesian language. 2. Consider cultural influences on the use of the Indonesian language. 3. Use Indonesian to communicate everyday needs with particular emphasis on introductions and family 4. Apply acquired learning skills to new language learning environments.5. Use the Internet and associated electronic tools to obtain information about aspects of language and culture related to Indonesia.

Assessment: Spoken presentation (10 minutes): 25%; Cultural Journal (in English): 1000 words: 15%; Short tasks (500 words): 10%; Written Examination (2 hours): 30%; Spoken Exam (20 minutes) 20%.

Contact Hours: 4 hours (1 x lecture, 1 x tutorial and 2 x practicals) per week.

Off-campus attendance requirements: 1 weekend school or equivalent hours with private tutor.
