Techniques for identifying components of the immune system and assaying immune responses to microorganisms. Flexible learning options will include on-line material, audio-taped lectures, quizzes and interactive tutorials.

Objectives: On completion of this unit, students will understand the structure and function of the immune system as a defence mechanism against microbial pathogens. They will also be able to test for specific immune responses to microorganisms.
