Offered:
Peninsula Second semester 2006 (Day)

Synopsis: The unit covers the evolution of health promotion and critically examines its inherent values and assumptions. Three main approaches to health promotion (medical, behavioural and socio-environmental), are examined, including their ideological foundations, key strategies, strengths and limitations, and the current evidence-base for their effectiveness.
