Synopsis: Fundamental framework and basic concepts of the mechatronics product development cycle to meet consumer needs. Design and decision processes applied in developing and manufacturing mechatronics products conforming to constraints, patents, total mechatronics product management, mechatronics product development in service industries, industrial buying behaviour, management, pricing policies, analysing and tracking customer preferences, promotion, personal selling and mass selling.
Assessment: Examination (3 hours): 50% + Case study: 20% + Tutorial participation and case study presentation: 20% + Continuous assessment: 10%
Contact Hours: 26 hours of lectures and 13 hours of tutorials
